As Marston+Marston’s Media Specialist and Public Relations Coordinator, Alexandria Ott recognizes that our client’s reputation, profitability, and continued support depends on the degree to which its targeted public understands its goals and policies. She works to maintain positive rapport with the public by building strong and highly regarded relationships with print and broadcast media outlets. With a thorough knowledge of local beat reporters, community publications, and industry-specific national publications, Alexandria has successfully landed a breadth of media coverage for M+M clients.
Alexandria’s extensive media background in the publishing, editorial, and advertising industry allows for versatility in her position. Since joining the team in 2008, Alexandria has led numerous media campaigns resulting in both local and national coverage.
She managed media relations for the South County Economic Development Council’s sold-out 19th Annual Economic Summit, where US Department of Labor Secretary Hilda Solis made her first official visit to San Diego. She developed all press materials, pre-event outreach, and was key in facilitating interviews between summit speakers and national media outlets.
Alexandria serves primarily as the media specialist for two South Bay school bond measures managed by M+M. In her role, she plans and executes media events that generate public awareness and bring business and civic leaders together with local, regional, and state-wide representatives. M+M’s longstanding political involvement has allowed for reliable relationships with elected officials- offering a catalyst and voice for significant client issues.
Additionally, Alexandria specializes in construction-related media with an emphasis in green building practices. She has secured placement for industry clients in publications such as Green Technologies Magazine, School Planning & Management Magazine, San Diego Daily Transcript’s Construction Week, and School Construction News.
Alexandria graduated cum laude from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Communication Studies and a minor in Journalism. She is a native of San Diego County.
